So i want to clearfy that, as i put oil every night it is necessary for me to wash my hair next monring with shampoo and conditioner? and by using these products on daily bases will not harm my hair like hair loss or hair vanishing? By the way my hair texture is thick and little frizz from front... plz do guide me.. ('-')Shampoo and conditioner on daily bases..?

How frequently should v shampoo our hair.is daily washing suggested?

I heard every other dayHow frequently should v shampoo our hair.is daily washing suggested?
it is actually good for ur hair to be dirty. lol believe it or not. the natural oils ur scalp produces it the best thing for ur hair, however i'm not insisting you go without washing it for weeks. I usually wash my hair every other day because my hair tends to get dry if i shampoo it every day since shampoo strips your hair of the natural oils ur hair needs to be healthy and shiny. How frequently should v shampoo our hair.is daily washing suggested?
Everyday or every other day....less if your hair is really curly.

  • Does Pantene: Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo dye your hair?

I have brown hair, and have never dyed it, added highlights etc. and don't plan to. But my hair color is a little dull for my liking and I looked up the Pantene Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo, which is supposed to add shine and boost color slightly. On the site it says it doesn't use color depositing formula but I'm still not so sure. Does anyone have experience with this shampoo/conditioner and knows if it changes your hair color completly? , thanks :)Does Pantene: Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo dye your hair?
    Don't worry!!!

I have that shampoo, and it works well. It doesn't change your hair color AT ALL, it's just supposed to bring out the color you already have. Go ahead and buy it and see if you like it. It won't change anything permanently AT ALL.Does Pantene: Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo dye your hair?
Hair dye completely changes your hair color, not freakin shampoo and conditioner.

the shampoo/conditioner is specifically made for brown hair and it supposedly is suppose to enhance and ';bring out'; the brunette color.

use almond oil, olive oil or johnson baby oil.....While using Dove Shampoo, which Hair oil we used Daily ?
It contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which ensures that your hair strand is damaged as also the root. It works thoroughly against the wellness of your hair. It's no different from any other commercial brand. So, it's immaterial what oil you try alongwith it - almond oil or kerosene oil !

If you are looking for a good oil for your hair, go for Olive oil,

If you are looking for a better oil for your hair, go for Almond Oil + Olive oil,

If you are looking for the best oil for your hair, go for Hempseed Oil + Jojoba Oil

If you are looking for a good Shampoos for your hair that are free from Sulfates and are not surfactant based and contain all the good stuff for your hair, hair-root and scalp like vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and some herbs, go for the Segals Solutions Program. Nothing else is even closer and is now recommended by members of the Intl.Association of Trichologists.

Does shampooing and conditioning daily damage hair?

I've heard recently that shampooing and conditioning you're hair can actually damage it. The thing is, when I was a kid, I was a bit of a lad and I never washed my hair. And now my hair is very thick and healthy, and I think that might be why. But now I'm paranoid about going bald, so I pamper my hair daily. Yet recently, somebody told me that pampering you're hair daily can damage you're hair because none of the natural oils come through. Help please?Does shampooing and conditioning daily damage hair?
if you use a harsh shampoo which is anti-dandruff or acidic then that could damage your hair as you said by removing natural oils. gentle shampoos (ones for dry/damaged hair, coconut ones) should be fine to use everyday if your hair is very greasy otherwise there is no need to wash it everyday, every other day or twice a week should be fine.Does shampooing and conditioning daily damage hair?
I do not believe having damaged hair has anything to do with going bald at all.

Damaged hair usually refers to split ends and brittleness of the actual hair itself, and I would imagine that regular shampooing and conditioning will over time damage it... but so will going outside. Sun, moisture, dryness, wind... all these things will damage hair. That is why hair grows. It's not meant to be self-maintaining. Most of the commercials you will see for hair care are all marketing crap.

It's possible that natural oils will protect your hair, but I think having a greasy mop on your head is going to be less attractive than having clean and possibly brittle hair.
YUp it's true, Shampooing and conditioning your hair daily can actually damage your hair it isn't good for your hair..

the healthy way is to actually wash your hair 2-3times a week..

but i don't think pampering your hair daily damages the hair, never heard it does..

I think if u apply healthy things to your hair it won't damage it..

I apply this Hair lotion almost everyday..

My hair is still THICK and HEALTHY..
Shampooing your hair daily can strip your hair of it's natural oils, making it dry and more prone to damage. It's best to wash your hair every other day. I wash every other day and condition every day.
Don't shampoo everyday, but you can condition every day. Shampoo every couple days.
every other day is what i do to keep my hair shiny with natural oils.
I am in the same boat as you!!

Can i shampoo my hair daily as they get oily very frequently?

I wash my hair everyday or I feel like I've been camping. Mine is so greasy I could be a NASCAR sponsor. Can i shampoo my hair daily as they get oily very frequently?
yes but wont make any difference i wash my hair everyday and still gets very oily up to you though its your head. Can i shampoo my hair daily as they get oily very frequently?
Saishoku is the only one that knows what they're talking about---Her answer is exactly right. You can rinse your hair everyday, but only shampoo about every other day. Frequent shampooing strips your hair of it's natural oils, therefore causing it to produce even more...it's trying to compensate!
it is not a good idea to shampoo ur hair every day .. coz ull be destroying ur hair follicles by the excess use .. although shampoo are meant to be safe, in matter of fact they r not !! shampoo contain all sort of nast chemicals to remove dirt and stuff .. if u want to remove excess oil, try the organic soap which is sold in places like holland %26amp; barrit (or something like that) ..

the soap is made for hair and the body from apples and it is amazing for washing as it removes oil and leaves a very pleasent apple smell and smooth silky hair ..

my family used to do their own ones and sell them back in old days but now u can get them anywhere .. so try those and see how it goes .. but then there is nothing wrong with oily hair.. some people would pay millions to make their hair oily !!
Yes you may shampoo your hair daily. Natural oils from your scalp may protect your hair, but dirt and microorganisms get caught in them throughout the day. Just make sure you use conditioner at least once a week to prevent your hair from drying, especially if you live in a tropical climate. Hope this helps.
    YES.
Unless you've got really dry hair, you can wash your hair daily. If you're worried about it you can always use dry shampoo every other day...
yes u can as it has no harm in that but they keep u cool and make you feel good
Washing your hair daily can actually make it more oily, as with each wash you are stripping the natural oil away causing it to produce more oil.

Try every other day (unless you get sweaty and dirty) and try shampoos for oily hair.

Do you switch off different shampoos on a daily basis?

I do. One day I use Pantene for blonde hair and then the next day I'll use Pantene for natural highlights. It's good to switch off because the same shampoo can build up.Do you switch off different shampoos on a daily basis?
No, but that is a great beauty tip! Thanks.Do you switch off different shampoos on a daily basis?
I do switch shampoos/conditioners, but not daily. I use Redken All Soft products and once a week I use a clarifying shampoo to remove all the build up and use a deep treatment to condition it.
    Yes, same

My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.

Does anyone know if Royal Treatment Dog Shampoo can be used frequently to bathe my puppy and not give him skin problems? My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.
A dog should never be bathed more then once every three to four weeks.

You can buy the little towlettes from your local petstore, and then just try to rub most of the dirt and stuff off.

But it is bad for the dogs skin to bathe frequently, ESPECIALLY daily. Shampoos remove the natural oils that the skin produces, ALL shampoos do. Without these oils, the skin drys out, as well as the hair.My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.
Get a good brush and use that to get the dirt off him.

There are special towels and wipes now too.

Bathing a dog more than twice a month will lead to skin problems.
My JRT is always dirty no matter how many times i brush him, he is a wire coat, I don't think its good to bath them too often. They are always digging or into something unsavoury lol.
I would not suggest bathing more than once a week, or your dog will get dry skin, and other skin problems.

How effective is washing hair daily with conditioner and apple cider vinegar rinse instead of shampoo?

I've never heard of such a thing. I hear a lot from older people that what you can eat can be used in your hair as a rinse out conditioner. Such as eggs and mayo. I personally, however, think that there are certain things made especially for the hair, but if you think it's gone make your hair healthier, go for it!!!!!

i dont know what you're saying.

if you dont use soap, shampoo, deoderant, toothpast and shower, thats sick.

and NO obviously you dont know **** about the female body, douching can cause infections, it strips the vagina of its natural bacteria that fights off the bad bacteria.

get a life, dont ask stupid questions if you dont even know what you're talking about.im sure you have a smelly sack. Why is it that the ladys testify to using soap ,shampoo , deoderant, toothpaste and showering daily?
Thats a very good point haha...but douching (you spelled it wrong), is actually very bad for women...The vagina is naturally acidic, and douching it makes it less acidic and actually dries it up. Furthermore, it leaves the woman, though clean, in an uncomfortable way and does not serve much more than that...But I have pondered upon that point as well haha...
you only use those if your sexually active

    answer mine

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
Bull. The vagina is self-cleaning and does not need anything like that unless the woman has an infection.

    Perhaps you need an enema?
No it's not. In fact if you do it too often you can get yeast infections as it upsets the pH balance.

Is it recommended to wash oily hair after running, daily? With shampoo or just water? How Often?

I tend to run most days of the week and that's the reason why I shower and wash my hair daily. Currently using ';head and shoulders shampoo'; and I don't condition. I want to know, how to get my hair less oily in the morning when I wake up because I go gym, and i dont want to go with oily hair and I dont want to wake up %26gt; shower %26gt; run %26gt; shower. I heard that washing it everyday is bad for your hair in regards to natural oils etc.. Should I wash it daily? Is it okay just to rinse with water and blow dry it? Baby powder? What other techniques are there? Is it recommended to wash oily hair after running, daily? With shampoo or just water? How Often?
Try looking at the article on oily hair shampoo here. It got a lot of useful info:

    http://skinhairandnailstips.blogspot.com鈥?/a>

If you have oily hair, it is ok to wash it everyday. Also the type of shampoo and the way you shampoo also matters. The article above also mentions on other remedy such as baby powder and dry shampoo.

Hope it helpsIs it recommended to wash oily hair after running, daily? With shampoo or just water? How Often?
You should always wash your hair after running. The sweat would clog the pores, making it even MORE oily and stringy-like.

You can try baby powder - Dab some into your hair, then brush it through.

Or, you can wet your hair before running and let it air dry. This way, the hair wont absorb the sweat.

Is it ok to bath my yorkie daily?....and what's the best shampoo to use?

No, a daily bath will strip the natural oils from your dogs coats.

If your dogs coat regularly collect mud/debris from the inclement weather, then towel off the excess mud %26amp; use coat bath wipes. They are very effective, quick to use %26amp; will not strip the oil from your dogs coat..

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr鈥?/a>Is it ok to bath my yorkie daily?....and what's the best shampoo to use?
Why do you need to wash the dog that often? If he has a bad odor, he probably has a problem with his anal glands or a skin condition and needs to see a vet.

If you just feel like playing doggy grooming salon, limit it to once a week or every other week. The best shampoo to use is a dog shampoo. Washing the dog too often can aggravate his skin and make it dry.Is it ok to bath my yorkie daily?....and what's the best shampoo to use?
No! Once a month should be sufficient. Yorkie can have a rather oily coat but proper brushing should help.

Good quality food also produces a healthy coat. Get away from any grocery store foods.

If she has a real odor, dry skin or irritated skin, contact your vet for a check up.Use a DOG mellaluca oil shampoo or oatmeal shampoo.

If she doesn't have any problem just use a good dog regular shampoo.

    More information would have helped
No it's not! You should only do it about once a month.

I use Groomer's Blend shampoo. It's about a dollar cheaper than the rest of the good brands in the pet store, and it works very well.

Here's a picture of Groomer's Blend dog shampoo:

    http://www.freewebs.com/petsgantry/GB-Pu鈥?/a>

(You'd probably want to use this one as you have a puppy, or so says your other questions. )
No, you should not bathe your Yorkie daily. Once or twice a month is plenty. Here's an excellent shampoo and conditioner:

    http://www.gingerpuplane.com/p451/sparkl鈥?/a>

    http://www.gingerpuplane.com/p384/true-b鈥?/a>
    No esp. not a puppy!!

Once a month with a good quality puppy shampoo or pet hypo shampoo is what you need to be doing. Brushing is more important than bathing to a yorkie. Over bathing only strips the coat %26amp; ruins it. Never use ppl shampoo only pet.
you shouldn't wash your dog daily every 3-4 weeks is fine! and i use johnsons baby shampoo cos it makes their coats so shiney
Bathing your dog everyday is too much. It will dry out their skin. There are wipes (kind of like baby wipes) that you can get to use for inbetween baths to freshen your dog up.
no i dont think you can bathe you puppy or dog every day i dontthink its good for them .. maybe once every other week would be ok .. and always use a puppy shampoo or dog shampoo
no you wash all the natural oils out, but i guess your some kind of paris hilton wannabe and the dog is just a fashion accessory
You should never bathe a dog daily, it will dry out their skin!

I actually use Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo and conditioner. I noticed a big difference the first time I used it. It makes your hair shinier, softer, silkier and healthier. It's great for hair that's prone to split ends.
i use tea tree special shampoo (available from your local beauty salon most likely) its GREAT, leaves hair clean and healthy and feels GREAT on your scalp, guarentee you will NEVER go back to any other shampoo once you use this stuff.
Any product from the Redken line is great. They make good stuff for all hair types.
    I usually use TIGI(bedhead) and MATRIX(sleek.look)

Alternate between shampoo and conditioner daily?

I heard that its bad to shampoo everyday, so would it be okay if i alternated between using shampoo and conditioner?

or should i used them together on the same day?Alternate between shampoo and conditioner daily?
i would say use both shampoo and conditioner on the same day. and wash your hair every other day or every two days. shampoo strips the hair of a lot and makes it very dry. therefore the conditioner replenishes and makes it soft again. if you use just shampoo your hair will be very dry. on the other hand if you use just conditioner your hair will be too moisturized and possibly look oily.Alternate between shampoo and conditioner daily?
just use them together on the same day.

I have to wash my hair every day because its very fine and long so it gets greasy really quick, its annoying but im yet to find anything that actually works well, but i was given the advice not to scrub your scalp when washing as it makes it produce more oil, and that did actually help a little. What is the best way to wash oily scalp? is daily washing right?if yes then which herbal shampoo?

Daily washing is not recommended. They say it just aggravates your oil glands on your scalp even more. Try washing it every second or third day. I would advise you to go to your nearest hairdressing salon and ask them whats the best shampoo to use for your scalp.
Oily scalp must be washed every day, but one should rinse after shampoo with lemon water his or her hair thoroughly.

Can you use lice shampoo daily to kill anything that might hatch between the first to 7th day?

I have RID lice shampoo and I used it last night.

But I really want to kill them ALL effectively and quickly.

Will the lice get used to the chemicals and create a resistance to it?

Or is using it every night for a week the smarter choice? Can you use lice shampoo daily to kill anything that might hatch between the first to 7th day?
The RID kills the lice. The application 7 days later kills the ones that have hatched from the eggs that were already laid.

    ';Nymph Stage: Once the louse hatches, it is called a nymph and is barely visible to the naked eye. The nymph cannot reproduce because it is not fully developed. After about 12 days, it becomes an adult.';

Using the shampoo sooner has no significant effect on the infestation. It just exposes the person to more chemicals. Can you use lice shampoo daily to kill anything that might hatch between the first to 7th day?
Lice shampoo will NOT get rid of everything. Go to your doctor, as embarrassing as it is, and they will prescribe something for you. You must then do the treatments and remove all bugs and eggs out of your hair. Wash EVERYTHING, socks, clothes, sheets, blankets, and turn the dryer on high heat. Vacuum the couches and beds. They do not ';die'; they can produce 7+ eggs for one woman bug. If you do not do as I tell you, you will suffer greatly and the bugs will stay.
the problem with lice is the eggs, as more lice hatch, they lay more eggs and the eggs are harder to kill than the live ones crawling around. they key is to kill the live ones to get the production of eggs to stop, and then smother or poison the existing eggs to keep them from hatching and starting the cycle all over....
you should just follow the directions on the lice shampoo you bought.

and i am not sure how long they live, but you should try to be on the safe side and wash everything, bedding, ect. Also throw out your hair brush and buy a new one. the lice do not get a resistance to the lice shampoo, but you should still wash all the things your hair comes in contact with. hope this helps

Washing your hair daily. Does washing the hair with shampoo daily makes your hair thin or loose my hair?

I do workout 5 days a week for nearly 1hr. My concern is during the workout one sweats a lot and a lot of salts and toxins are

released along with the sweat. Now my concern is my hair which are shoulder length and medium in thickness and a combination skin get soaked and wet with the sweat, once they dry up its really harsh and dry and some times greasy. The sweat does seem to spoil my hair. And if I dont wash my hair after workout, I dont like the smell of hair (which is sweaty).

Because of this I need to wash my hair daily. I use Sauve shampoo (Aloevera and waterlilly) to wash my hair. I dont use conditioner. I dont use oil for my hair.

    My questions are:

    1) If I wash my hair daily with shampoo, will it make my hair thin? I mean, does my hair fall off if I shampoo it daily?

    2) If I wash my hair daily with shampoo, Will it make my scalp more dry and loose my hair?

    3) Can I wash my hair daily?

Please respond to all my questions and suggest me with some tips.

Thanks.Washing your hair daily. Does washing the hair with shampoo daily makes your hair thin or loose my hair?
it is bad for your hair if you wash it everyday with only shampoo. your scalp maked natural oils which keeps your hair from drying out, so if you wash it every day, it can make your hair more brittle.

try using any type of shampoo that says Moisturizing or Daily Use. you sould even try using a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner to help. =]Washing your hair daily. Does washing the hair with shampoo daily makes your hair thin or loose my hair?
i have been asking the same question.. and you know what they told me?

they say that if you wash your hair daily you lose it more quickly, so i wash it every 2 days,.. there are ctually lots of ways to take care of your hair and to make the roots stronger... i have been looking in the internet, and all the things i found seem to be working.

of course, naturally, if you are using products, and stuff, even if it says is natural, is not.

btw;skin, nails, and hair, are a reflection of what you eat.consider that as a fact.

  • Im 16 and losing hairI feel crazy I shampoo daily b/c my scalp is oily but i mean--cmon have u evr hrd of 16 y

If you are a guy - it maybe premature balding. You have lots of options.

If you are a chick, it maybe stress or even hormone changes. When pregnant you lose an incredible amount of hair. My youngest is almost 3, and I am still losing a bunch of hair everyday. It's normal and I'm not bald - actually my hair is thicker because it has so many different lengths.Im 16 and losing hairI feel crazy I shampoo daily b/c my scalp is oily but i mean--cmon have u evr hrd of 16 y
my brother started loosing hair when he was 16, now he is 21 and he has a little bald spotIm 16 and losing hairI feel crazy I shampoo daily b/c my scalp is oily but i mean--cmon have u evr hrd of 16 y
you might have a thyroid problem. yes i have heard of people losing hair at 16 my sis did and she has a thyroid prob. go to the doctor.they can help.

    ps. try a diffrent shampoo
Could be the drug use. I hear it affects your ability to type a sentence correctly too.
tell doc or use diff shampoo or conditioner
Get shampoo for oily hair and don't wash your hair daily. Removing all the natural oils every day isn't good for your hair. When I was a kid nobody shampooed every day. When the shampoo companies convinced us all that we needed to, that's when they added conditioners to the market. They were to replace the natural oils we were losing. I started losing a lot of hair about four years ago. I was literally scooping it out of the bathtub by the handfuls. Pretty scary. I heard someone on the radio talking about how we damage our hair from too much shampooing. I started skipping a day and I lose a lot less hair. If I can stand it, I go three days. I'm not tossing a handful of hair in the trash on a daily basis anymore.
Dude, me hair falls out too. If you are a guy, you might want to try switching to a gentle, baby shampoo. It works!
Some shampoos contain panthenon, which is a wax based ingredient in alot of shampoos. It will also suffocate your hair follicles and cause hair loss. Switch to a shampoo that doesn't contain panthenon.
You could be suffering from alopecia!

It can happen at any age and is caused by many things like stress, depression or even a non-related illness that manifests itself this way.

Go to your doctor and get some professional advice,
I havent heard of that. but ive heard of 14 year olds going grey
It is natural to lose hair - you lose hundreds per day. But if you are experiencing a noticeable difference in your hairline or the thickness of your hair, maybe you should talk to your doctor. They may be able to tell you what the cause of your problem is - it could be genetic, it could be the shampoo you are using, or it could just be a phase that will go away on its own.
A friend of mine started to go bald at 18, but it did run in his family!

He wore a lot of hats and shaved his head and just learnt to live with it!!!
Your inability to type a coherent sentence is causing your hair to fall out.
i think you better avoid food with high MSG or salt content. hope it helps!! and dont scrub your scalp too hard when u wash your hair! just massage it gently..

Do anyone know about the Redken Solve shampoo? Is it something one can use daily?

I have a dry and itchy scalp, wich tend to get greasy during the day, maybe becouse I'm using the wrong shampoo. I'm currently using a non-fragrance etc. shampoo, but it's not doing anything for me:-/ A friend suggested the Solve shampoo, but I'm trying to find out if it's okay to use it everyday, or if it'll only make my problem scalp worse.. Anyone? Thankfull for all answers:-)Do anyone know about the Redken Solve shampoo? Is it something one can use daily?
Not sure about Solve Shampoo, but I use only Redken products on my hair and I love them. I've been know to wash my hair twice in a day, and have never had any problems. With a dry scalp you'll want to use something with lots of moisturizers.Do anyone know about the Redken Solve shampoo? Is it something one can use daily?
I just received a sample of the Solve Shampoo, and the directions on the bottle says '; Use twice a week';. So there's the answer, if anybody else wondered.... Report Abuse

I shampoo and condition my hair daily, should i be skipping days?

yeah, i shampoo and condition my

hair daily too but it's only

    because my hair gets oily

fast. if your hair doesn't get oily

fast i would recommend washing your

hair every other day.I shampoo and condition my hair daily, should i be skipping days?
Depends on your hair type. If it's oily I would shampoo every day, condition every other. For dry hair I'd reverse it, shampoo every other day and condition every day. If your hair is pretty normal, Id wash and shampoo every other day. Unless your hair is very oily or you use a lot of hair product, you actually shouldn't wash every day.I shampoo and condition my hair daily, should i be skipping days?
yes if it's really thick otherwise if you wash your hair everyday then you'd get more split ends.
It depends on your hair type, not really enough info. You should try skipping days to keep in those natural oils. But if your hair gets oily and you're an active person then wash your hair every few days. You should contact a hairdresser,if you need more info.Hope this helps!
although I was mine daily, most hairstylists recommend waiting a day or two between washes otherwise it strips your hair of its natural oil. And its easier to style hair that has some oil in it then freshly cleaned. Just make sure that your shampoo and conditioner are mouisture enriched! :)
depends on what ur hairs like...some people wash there hair 3 times a week..some everyday...I think ul have to test both ways to see which way makes ur hair better
Haha, this is a topic that has many different answers. I have a sister who washes her hair once a week b/c her hair doesn't ever get oily... NEVER! This really frustrates me b/c mine gets dirty fast so I wash it every other day because its also dry at the same time (complicated, I know.).

Basically, if you have really oily hair, if at the end of the day when you brush a piece of hair back it looks greasy at the roots, you may need to wash it every day. If it doesn't get dirty fast, don't do more than every other day and maybe even less. The less you wash your hair the healthier it will be. !

Also, if you have shorter hair you will need to wash it more frequently than you would if you had long hair because the oil isn't being distributed amongst as much hair when you have a shorter cut.
Yes if you can because it is better for your hair not wash it every day. People freak out thinking it will look greasy etc if they don't wash it every day, but in fact by washing it frequently you stimulate the oil follicles in the hair to work harder so but washing less, they slow down a bit.

I use tres'eme shampoo n conditioner it works amazing for any type of hair (straight, frizzy etc). I shampoo every day and condition every other day. The shampoo I dont leave in my hair for to long just a reg wash then I rinse it out with semi-cold water the hot water actually damages ur hair. Then when u condition it leave it in ur hair for about 2-3 mins. What I do is I get in the shower wet my hair then shampoo n condition it first then while im showering I keep the conditioner in my hair through the shower b4 I get out then I just rinse it out. The longer its in ur hair the better n the most u will get out the product. also try not to use styling products it kills ur hair n blowdryin to. hope this helps bye

I m a working woman, what should be my ideal hair care regimen for the week? I cant shampoo my hair daily.?

You should shampoo your hair at least twice a week, at max thrice. If your hair is dry use a conditioner every time you shampoo and if it's oily condition it once a week. Also, oil your hair once a week along with a hot towel treatment (wrap a towel soaked in hot water around your head after oiling n keep for 30--60 minutes). This basic regimen should help you maintain your hair health.

ooo.. i know EXACTLY what kind of hair you have. mine. lol. i had to try everything to get to the right shampoo i have now. pantene. my hair is so soft and healthy that when i go to get it cut.. or straightened for a change.. the girl just plays with my hair for about ten minutes telling my how soft and healthy it is. hope you try it. dont use the shampoo and conditoner in one.. use them seperate and then ocassionally put in leave in conditioner in the day like a mouse.. let your curls and body control it and go.. it feels a bit creamy if you put to much, but it's making your hair super soft. .. good luck.I use KMS brand Daily Fixx shampoo and conditioner. Do you shampoo daily?

How do you feel about either doing it daily or not? Have you tried alternatives like skipping a day, and what did you think of it?Do you shampoo daily?
i shampoo everydayDo you shampoo daily?
yes, i shampoo everyday on weekdays!

On holidays or vacations, i don't find it necessary!

My hair doesn't get oily if i don't wash it but i have 3 hours of practice so my hair gets gross

    lol
I sometimes shampoo my hair daily but that's during the summer when my hair is really oily but during the winter and other seasons, every other day.
no. it dries my hair out and like the person above me said the natural oils help your hair to be healthy and shiny! my hair never looks greasy so dont worry about that :)
Its not good to wash hair everyday unless it is actually dirty.
yeah i shampoo every day :D
I shampoo every other day, because i hear that if you shampoo too often, it takes out the natural oils in your hair that keep your hair healthy

On Pantene hair thickening shampoo, it says ';use daily.'; Can you actually wash your hair that often??

And would it only work if you used it everyday? because I've been using it once a week for the past 8 months and it hasn't helped my hair any... My hair used to be so pretty, but it's half as thick as it used to be now, so i'm really desperate.. please help! On Pantene hair thickening shampoo, it says ';use daily.'; Can you actually wash your hair that often??
i wash my hair everday during weekdays and during the weekends i dont wash them. its healthy thoughOn Pantene hair thickening shampoo, it says ';use daily.'; Can you actually wash your hair that often??
I always wash my hair every day..although maybe it's just because my hair is naturally greasy.

I've never actually used Pantene hair thickening shampoo but if the directions say to use it daily you probably should. Washing your hair every day won't hurt it.
It will dry out your hair if you shampoo everyday unless you have naturally oily hair. It strips your hair of the natural oils and to tell the honest truth about Pantene, it only puts a coating on the hair instead of penetrating into the hair.
You can wash your hair as many times as you want, but washing it daily gets rid of your hairs natural oils so if you start to wash it everyday you have to continue to.
i dont think so i think they just say that on the commercial. because someone once told me if you wash your hair everyday it can dry hair. because it will take away the natural oils.

I have to wash my hair daily, because I use mousse or gel , what is the gentlest shampoo/conditioner to use?

I have to use either mousse or gel in my hair everyday because my hair gets really frizzy otherwise and I know washing everyday probably makes it worse, but I have to wash it.I have to wash my hair daily, because I use mousse or gel , what is the gentlest shampoo/conditioner to use?
I like Dove. It removes buildup without drying out or adding more buildup. I also try not to wash my hair with the same kind of shampoo/conditioner every time for fear that my hair will ';get used to'; that kind and get greasy. Try different kinds and figure out what works best for you.I have to wash my hair daily, because I use mousse or gel , what is the gentlest shampoo/conditioner to use?
dove is the best pantee makes your hair fall out trust me they use chlorine in their products
    i use Pantene as well..
I use mousse %26amp; gel everyday, too. I like pantene pro-v, but i'm not sure if it's so gentle or not...just gotta try things out!
Try baby shampoo, it has to be super gentle and it will make your hair soft too.
the best shampoo to use which is not very expensive, is a salon shampoo by Charles Worthington called Q%26amp;A Sensitive - it is available in America and around the world......Sensitive would be the one for you.....I use the Results Moisture Healer, but I've just found it to be the best value for money brand - that actually brings results......
I use Pantene Clarifying. Its really gentle, and its not heavy.
Try Ojon. You can find it on QVC.com

Has anyone used daily moisture dove shampoo and conditioner??

does it work i just bought some and i just wanted know if any one has used it ive tried a lot of different shampoos but im looking for the best!!!Has anyone used daily moisture dove shampoo and conditioner??
Dove does work great, but if you have really dehydrated hair, you may need something stronger. At beauty sallons %26amp; CVS stores, there is a shampoo %26amp; conditioner called Matix Biolage Hydratherapy shampoo %26amp; condition. Each is like $16 but work amazingly!Has anyone used daily moisture dove shampoo and conditioner??
Dove is decent but you should try Aussie. I have hair to my waist and I have found that is the best to prevent frizz and and it really makes your hair feel soft.
    dove stinks...

:]Thin, limp hair - wash daily or it looks dirty. By end of day, looks dirty again. What shampoo would be best?
Stop washing every day. After a while it will get used to it and get less oily. When you wash all the time you strip away all the good stuff in your hair that makes it strong and healthy.

yes! you can!We can use both shampoo and conditioner daily?
You're not going to believe this but I read somewhere that we shouldn't wash our hair with shampoo more than twice a week! I asked my hairdresser about it and two of them said that that was correct. But they said that just getting it thoroughly wet on the other days is sufficient to keep hair looking and feeling clean.

Using conditioner every time you shampoo isn't going to hurt your hair even if you continue to wash it daily.

If you see a hairdresser ask about what I said. It would be interesting for you to see what kind of answer you'll get.
mom used to be a hairdresser, and she said, to shampoo every day if you take a shower, but not if you don't have too. do NOT conditon you're hair everyday, it will look very grasy after a week of washing!
No way, so many people use shampoo and conditioner. I prefer not to use 2 in 1 because separate shampoos and conditioners make my hair so much softer, and they shouldn't cause your hair to fall out.

  • Can i condition my hair instead of shampoo my hair daily?

can i condition and wash out the conditioner would my hair be greasy? Can i condition my hair instead of shampoo my hair daily?
Yes you can! Some people find that their hair actually gets healthier because they're conditioning more, too. Shampoos contain sulfates that dry out your hair, and if you want to keep your hair clean and well conditioned then you might very well want to co-wash (conditioner wash) your hair more and use shampoo less.

When co-washing you should do it twice: The first time you should use the conditioner like you would shampoo, by squishing it around your hair to ';wash'; it. Rinse it. The second time you should use the conditioner for conditioning, that is let it sit in your hair for a few minutes. If you don't do both steps then you'll be neglecting something; either, you won't be cleaning your hair with the conditioner, or you won't be conditioning your hair because your hair won't be clean enough for the conditioner to penetrate your hair as a conditioner.

The only way to know if your hair would be greasy is to try it out. Even then you can try it with different conditioners and get different results or switch to an organic or natural shampoo that won't dry out your hair as much (they don't contain sulfates). You can also try a moisturizing shampoo that won't dry out your hair as much. If you want to stop using shampoo completely then there are no-shampoo lines of hair products. Wen is an example and has a cleansing conditioner that gets your hair clean like shampoo without drying it out. It's also a conditioner and deep conditioner all in one. Hair One is a generic version of Wen that's sold at Sally's Beauty Supply.

People with dry hair and curly hair types usually co-wash because curly hair usually gets dried out by over-shampooing. Also, with co-washing you'll eventually have to use shampoo because the conditioner can cause build-up. It doesn't get rid of everything in your hair, either, for instance, conditioner alone cannot get rid of mineral oil, so at some point you would have shampoo (or clarify) to get your hair completely clean, but conditioner can get rid of most ingredients/products that you put in your hair. Can i condition my hair instead of shampoo my hair daily?
I don't see the point on wetting the hair to put conditioner on it without shampooing. Don't shampoo every day if your hair doesn't need it (most doesn't) and there's no need to condition it either. If you have hair that tends to get greasy, it could and like I said, it's not necessary to condition for the sake of conditioning.
yes, and it might end up looking like this...

    http://www.mixedchicks.net/images/wendip鈥?/a>
Well yes, shampoo actually cleans it, doesn't it?

Why don't you just wash your hair every other day if you're going to do that?

Many clarifying shampoos can be used daily...but you really don't need to use that every day unless your hair is super, super oily. You don't want to strip out too much of the natural oils, or it will get way too dry. If you do want to use that shampoo daily, at least follow up with a light conditioner in the shower, or a light spray-in type conditioner, so your hair doesn't dry out too much.Daily clarifying shampoo?
    water
It depends on your hair type. I have extremely thin hair and it's crappy for me, it really dries out my hair, don't listen to what the bottle says.

My hair is losing, i shampoo my hair daily to keep my scalp clean and has short hair (3 to 4 mm)?

genetically my father and grand parents are having bladness but none of them started losing at my age,(26)., i also apply oil on hair sometimes and takes bathe twice daily, has it do something with diet?any home remedies to stop hair loss, please helpMy hair is losing, i shampoo my hair daily to keep my scalp clean and has short hair (3 to 4 mm)?
Genetics playa huge role in hair loss. Each individual loses their hair at diffent times in life. Meaning if your grandfather lost his at 42 that doesn't mean that you won't lose yours until your 42. Your diet could play a role but it would take a drastic change in your diet or eating habits to cause hair loss.

There are only two proven (and by proven I mean scientifically studied in labs with control groups) chemicals that work to slow or stop hair loss. Minoxidil(Rogaine) and Finasteride(Propecia/Proscar) are the two out there on the market that are FDA approved. People have had great results from both, but I personally like to use propecia. I have used rogaine but didn't like using the topical on my head before I went to bed because it would get on my pillow and then on my face from there. Not a huge issue but propecia comes in the form of a pill and is much easier to take. It should be noted that both of these only are proven to help with the crown area of the scalp and not the temple regions. Hope that Helps! My hair is losing, i shampoo my hair daily to keep my scalp clean and has short hair (3 to 4 mm)?
Nothing about shampooing everyday is good for your hair. Genetics probably have a huge part to play in this, and age really in that case has nothing to do with it. But try to only shampoo every other day (the residue and soap from shampoo [especially if not properly washed out] can build up on your hair and actually make it appear oilier and dirtier then before, which is unhealthy for your hair. Otherwise, there are some great hair products out there, but as for home remedies i don't think there is much you can do. Try Ask Jeeves, he might know a thing or to, or if the problem worsens, consult a physician.

    Good luck
There isn't really that much you can do, you can massage your scalp to stimulate the hair follicles, and there are a few remedies you can buy that apparently stimulate the hair follicles into producing more hair, but to be honest I wouldn't believe these calms.

Male Pattern Baldness is so common, if there was a cure someone would be extremely rich by now.
try Nioxine, it helps (shampoo and conditioner). It is on sale in the mall and in walmart.

i will cut off my dead ends soon promise but is the got2b shampoo GENTLE enough to use everyday lol sry too many details. Can't find the right words! JUST BEAR WITH ME. :)Can you use the got2b hottie deep repair shampoo/conditioner as a daily shampoo?! PLEASE AND THANKS!!!?
I'm not sure about the shampoo bit, but theres a V05 product called hot oil you can buy, its in a little tube and its about 拢1.00 its for split ends, and helps prevent them and glue the current ones together.

%26amp; you can use that one as much as you like.

Will there be any problem if i use shampoo daily ?

there might be cause u r washing away your scalps oils and then your hair will get oily because of the oil u r producing in order 2 make up 4 the lossWill there be any problem if i use shampoo daily ?
It depends on the type of hair you have. If it's really oily then there is no problem if it has very little natural oil then there will be. Your hair needs a little oil to protect itself from the enviorment and without it you will weaken your hair significantly. You should give it a break and not wash it everyday. It is recommened to only wash you hair four times a week. Again it depends on your hair type, but perhaps don't wash it on the weekend or wash it everyother day. Will there be any problem if i use shampoo daily ?
It may cause your hair to dry out but otherwise it should be fine. Ultimately it depends on your hair type. I cannot use shampoo daily cuz it dries my hair but my hair is thick wavy and course so that is what happens... If your really unsure, talk to a stylist and they can tell you what they think given your hair type.
your stripping your scalp of natural oils so your scalp will produce more oil since its trying to compensate for the loss. if you use conditioner your helping but it is best not to wash everyday. if you must use the least abrasive shampoo you can afford. stay away from clarifing or purifying
    no i don't think so.

I shampoo my haird every day.

it also depends on your hair because if your hair

is really dry then it would be bad to wash and shampoo everyday because your scalp would be dry. If your hair gets kind of greasy easily like mine then you should wash it everyday. :D hope i helped :d
wash you hair every other two days. most shampoos strip your hair of the natural oils that make it thin and breakable. you can put a small of conditioner in between washings though.
Ive used shampoo daily and never had a problem.

now i shampoo every other day just cuz im lazy and people say it's better if you do it every other day.
No their won't be any problem if you shampoo daily, Nothing bad will happen...Most people prefer to shampoo every other day because Shampooing every day will strip out your hair's natural oil.
no there is not problem with shampooing your hair everyday. its good for your hair.

Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and conditioner?

Does this product work? Does it get rid of split ends and dryness?Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and conditioner?
    basically no.

Nothing gets rid of split ends apart from regular trimming.

If your hair is dry then you need a good moisturising product. Pantene products contain silicone thats what they add to try %26amp; make the hair shine, it weighs down the hair to try make it lie flat, in a lot of cases this does not work, in other cases it just makes the hair limp %26amp; greasy.

Any good EASY homemade shampoo recipe suitable for DAILY use?

I read that daily shampooing isn't good for our hair, But I do a lot of sports and so I really need to wash my hair daily...cos' otherwise it'll stink! Yucks!

Any EASY homemade shampoo recipe? Or do you know of what else I can do if I really need to reduce the frequency of my shampooing?

Thanks!!!Any good EASY homemade shampoo recipe suitable for DAILY use?
Well everyone says that but I don't really think theres actual evidence that its really bad. Such as some sort of damage. Your hair might be sorta dry from washing daily but I don't think theres anything wrong with that.

I think you should look for a clarifying shampoo in a salon store thats ideal for daily washing. Ask anyone and they'll point you in the right direction. You won't need to use too much and its a bit cheaper than the stuff you buy over the counters.

*The other advice is a good idea too.Any good EASY homemade shampoo recipe suitable for DAILY use?
if you just wash it with hot water to get the sweat out, then use a conditioner every few days to keep it from drying out, you should be fine. you dont really need to shampoo your hair until it gets oily (not just smelly from sweat). the sweat is water soluble, so itll just wash out with water, but oil needs shampoo to break it down.
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

    http://www.beautifulhamesha.com/Herbal-H鈥?/a>
Try a conditioner wash~ You do not need to shampoo your hair every day, it can be too drying~ Try using just conditioner every other day or try diluting the shampoo with water and using this as a light wash when you feel you have to use shampoo.
If you wash your hair daily, you can easily dry it out. Try using a mild kids' shampoo it and at to it a couple of tablespoons of olive oil to the bottle (or jojoba oil). Shake the bottle well before use so the oil blends in.

I would also recommend that you prepare a homemade hair conditioner and use it once or twice a week. Here are a few recipes:

    Avocado hair moisturizer

    Ingredients

    * 1/4 avocado, peeled and mashed

    * 1/4 mayonnaise

    * blender or food processor

    Preparation

    * Combine avocado and mayonnaise in a blender or food processor until the mass is consistent and smooth

    * Apply on hair and cover with a shower cap

    * Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes

    * Rinse off with a gentle shampoo

    Ingredients

    1 whole avocado

    1 cup of coconut milk.

    Preparation

Mash avocado thoroughly and then slowly mix with the milk and stir until it resembles a thick, conditioner like mixture.

cover hair with mixture and leave for 15 minutes then rinse completely and shampoo.

    Deep conditioner

    Ingredients

    * 3-4 drops of essential oils of your choice

    * 1 teaspoon of olive oil

    * 1 egg

    Preparation

    * Beat the egg

    * Mix in the rest of the ingredients

    * Apply on the hair and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes

    * Rinse off using a gentle shampoo

This hair conditioner helps moisturize (olive oil) and soften your hair (egg). You can keep it refrigerated in a plastic container with a lid. Shake it well before using it.

Is daily shampooing bad for hair?if so what should apply to my hair?

i have weak hair + hair loss which people say is due to daily shampooing.if i shampoo twice a week ,pls. suggest what should i apply in the rest of the days.i use hair cream(parachute).so only shower wont remove the oiliness. Is daily shampooing bad for hair?if so what should apply to my hair?
Yes it can be bad for the hair, it strips the natural oils...in reality most hair types can and should go 3 days to a week without washing, some people can go even longer though I don't recommend it.

But I can't imagine that shampoo is the sole cause of your problem...it could be a dietary problem or even genetic. The best thing to do is see a dermatologist to rule these out. Everyone loses between 40 and 120 strands a day, depending on how much hair you have and its growth cycle. Finer-haired people tend to have more strands than coarse-haired, so they generally lose more. But if you're used to losing around 40 a day and you're suddenly shedding 80 or more, or if your part seems to be getting wider or you're seeing more scalp, you've probably got a problem. Not all hair loss is permanent and it's vital to find out what's causing the loss so that it can be treated. Some of the causes: seasonal shedding, usually in the fall; losing more than 15 pounds in a month; thyroid problems; iron deficiency; and stress.

In the meantime you may want to try biotin or a folic acid supplement that has pantothenic acid in it. You can get all these over the counter at most drug or health food stores. Most stores also have supplements formulated just for growing and strengthening hair. Gelatin is an old remedy as well, that's been used by many to strengthen hair and nails. Make sure you're getting enough good fats in your diet, like olice oil, canola and avocado oil. Also the over the counter topical hair treatments like Rogaine and Nioxin may be helpful in prohibiting immediate hair loss until you figure out what the real problem is.

I took a quick look at what Parachute is (I'd never heard of it) and I see that it's a hair oil...it could be that you're either using too much or you just don't need it and if you simply must wash your hair every day, use the mildest shampoo you can find...like baby shampoo. Is daily shampooing bad for hair?if so what should apply to my hair?
it isnt bad but u shouldnt do it if you have weak hair!! if your hair gets oily day to day then you should wash everyday. I have dry hair and i wash it everyotherday.
if you go your closest salon, like rudy%26amp;kelly, go in and ask for ';Cloud 9 Miracle Treatmant Conditioner'; its only like 11-13 dollars depending on the salon you get it from, and all you so is when you are in the shower with you hair soaking wet use it on all of your hair and leave it in for like 3-5 minutes ( like bottle says to leave it for 2 minutes but if you leave it in for longer it will work even better) trust me this stuff works SOOO good and it is the best smelling hair product in the world!!!! i straighten my hair all the time bc it is sooooo curly to my straightener ruins my hair but this stuff makes my hair so soft and smooth!!!

    hope this helps!!
you shouldnt wash your hair everyday, otherwise your hair will becomce dry and brittle. when you have a shower dont wash your hair just in water and when u do wash your hair use conditioner.

a tip to replace what oils you lots from washing is to get your hair wet, get some warm olive oil and rub it in your hair, with the oil still in your hair cover your head in clingfilm and towls and leave for 10 mins or so,

its like giving your hair a moisturise!

    hope this helps

    x
Yeah its not great for your hair. First try cutting it down to once every two days then increase the number of days between washes slowly if you feel you need to. Use a daily shampoo and conditioner at first which is probaby designed to be less harsh on the hair.

Also after washing your hair give it a quick rinse with cold water which get rid of any excess shampoo and conditioner so its not as greasy

Stop using the hair cream if its related to the greasyness and fine a product similar that isn't oily

If you need to go out and you feel your hair is too greasy try a dry shampoo which is available in stores such as boots or search online

    http://theshampooshop.com may have some x
I wash my hair everyday and I have beautiful hair. Just make sure you use a good conditioner every day also. I like matrix. Also deep condition and use a leave in conditioner.

  • Is Pet Sensations Dry Ferret Shampoo safe to use on ferrets daily or 2x daily?

She smells really bad and I do eveything I am supposed to be doing. She is eating a good ferret food with high protien, no fish, and no animal bi-products. She is on bi-odor. I scoop the litter box 3 times a day. I throughly clean her cage and change her bedding and litter every three days. I give her a bath every month. She is fixed. She is descented. I keep the area around her cage clean. I clean bowls and water bottles every day, and keep her toys clean and wash/replace them when neccessary. I also give her clean t-shirts in her cage every day and I know she smells, not the cage.

Anyway, the dry shampoo seems to do a good job of keeping her from smelling when I give it to her every day or two times a day and it says it is safe to use as often as needed, but it says it absorbs dirt and (whitch is good) moisture, whitch it also known as oil; and I know it is not good to stripe the furs of their oils but I'm not sure if it is safe even though it says it is. And my mom thinks its safe and says that even if it isn't safe that she'd rather her skin be itchy and flaky that to smell her and I could'nt keep her if she smells, (because we live in a really nice house). And I would really appreciate any advice about how to keep her from smelling and an answer to my question.

P.S: The smell when she is not using the shampoo isn't just mild, it's horrid. Is Pet Sensations Dry Ferret Shampoo safe to use on ferrets daily or 2x daily?
It sounds like you're doing a lot of things right and you've definitely done your research, so good job on that! =)

I have five ferrets right now and notice very little smell. Let me tell you what I do to keep the smell down (most, if not all, are things you already do, but I need to go through my list to see if there's anything you're not doing that might help):

*wipe down pans/shelves of cage daily (I do mine once, in the evening, if you have time to do it twice a day, go for it). Use something with vinegar, orange, or something slightly acidic (let me explain why real quick - the odor issue came up on a ferret forum I'm a member of and a ferret-owning, science teacher suggested using an acidic cleaner because it will help neutralize the high pH of the ferret smell and urine). Or you can just use a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar - cheap, natural, and it works.

*scoop litter box(es) at least twice a day

*wash food and water dishes every day

*wash and change all bedding (blankets, hammocks, etc.) at least once a week. Use warm water and about one cup of vinegar (white, but apple cider works, too). Again, the low pH of vinegar will neutralize the high pH of the ferret smells and the bedding should come out smelling great (but your washer might smell funny for a little while).

*completely empty and wash litter box(es) at least once a week

*thoroughly clean cage at least once a week (take out pans/shelves and wash well with hot water and soap or the vinegar solution and I also wipe down the bars of the cage)

*bathe your ferret as little as possible! I used to do the once a month baths, too, but after doing some reading, I cut it back to only one or two baths per year. Since cutting back, I think my ferrets smell less. They don't even need that many baths. The only time they *need* a bath is if they get into something that isn't safe for them to lick off - they are very clean animals and are constantly grooming themselves. (So, to answer your question, I say no to using the dry shampoo every day.)

*wipe down walls around the ferret's cage (again, use the vinegar solution)

*shampoo carpets or mop if you have hardwood or vinyl floors

*wash fabric toys at least once a week (mine have a lot of blankets and stuffed animals they like to play with)

*wash all other toys on a weekly basis, too

*check around for any pee or poop spots that might have missed the litter box - your little fuzzbutt could have left her mark somewhere that you can't see, so check around.

*feed them a good diet (check the ash content, too, a higher percent of ash can cause a ferret to smell more)

*check and clean ears - some say to clean their ears once or twice a month, but they really don't need to be cleaned more than once every two to three months (unless they have an excessive production of earwax). Also, smell the ears, extra stinky ears can be a sign of a problem and should be checked by a vet.

*smell their breath - bad breath can also be a sign of a problem and should be checked by a vet.

*neutering will help cut back on overall smell, descenting will not (which you already know, but thought I'd mention anyway for anyone else that might be reading this)

I know you said you already do most (if not all) of those things, but hopefully you spotted something you haven't tried and will make a difference. I strongly recommend trying the vinegar for washing their bedding and cage pans - so many people have tried it with great results. And I also recommend cutting back on the baths. Also, you and your mom could just be extra sensitive to the ferret smell. She might not actually smell as bad as you make it seem, it just seems that bad to you. Some people like it, some can't tolerate it at all. I personally like their natural scent, but I only notice it when I stick them right under my nose.

One other thing, how long have you had your ferret and how old is she? I notice that ferrets from pet shops tend to smell more for a little while, but it does wear off. Also, I notice when my ferrets are nervous (like when I take them to the vets), they smell a lot more.

Good luck with your fuzzy and I hope you figure something out. Hopefully you won't have to give her up because they really are so much fun.

EDIT: One other thing I wanted to ask, what did your vet think about the way your ferret smells? Did he/she make any comments about her smelling more than normal? I'm asking because, again, it could just be you and your mom are more sensitive to the ferret smell. Do you know any other ferret owners in your area? If so, do you think they smell horrid like your ferret or do they seem to smell less?

EDIT: Well, if your vet said the smell seemed normal (if he has a lot of experience with ferrets then he should have an idea of what the ';average'; ferret smell is), then it's most likely just you and your mom being extra sensitive to the smell. There's not much you can do about that. Also, she's still young and since you just got her recently (I'm assuming from a pet shop), then it could be that pet shop smell, which usually wears off. All I can say is try some of the things I mentioned above that you haven't tried yet and please don't bathe her everyday (even with the dry stuff). It's just going to make her smell worse and could be part of the reason why she smells so much now. Just let her go for at least a couple months before giving her another bath. I'm telling ya, ever since I cut my ferrets' baths back to once a year, they smell less than they did when they were getting a bath every month. Is Pet Sensations Dry Ferret Shampoo safe to use on ferrets daily or 2x daily?
Ferrets smell. Some people dont mind it some people cant stand it. I think it smells cute. I think you are doing everything you can do to tone it down. Maybe she is just extra stinky.
You do not want to shampoo every day. The more you shampoo a ferret, the more productive their glads will become and produce moe od the ';musky'; order. Ferrests should be bather about every 2 weeks.
The problem is the bedding you are using. Do not use this stuff or any kind of bedding like it the ferret smell seems to magnify.http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr鈥?/a>

You have to use blankets. I used old sheets and baby blankets. You can buy nice fleece baby blankets at the dollar store for yup a dollar. You fold them to the size of the cage and the ferret will not use the bathroom on it because its like a real bed to it nice and cozy and ferrets won't use the bathroom where they sleep. They save you money because you wash them once a week and you have to scrub the cage out with warm soap and water. Or you can use thishttp://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr鈥?/a>

Or this (what I use)http://www.ferret.com/item/natures-mirac鈥?/a> I want to get thesehttp://www.ferret.com/item/natures-mirac鈥?/a> Also what kind of litter are you using? You should be using paper pellet litter like one of these.http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js鈥?/a>

    http://www.ferret.com/item/marshall-ferr鈥?/a>

    http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr鈥?/a>

Now on to the topic of bathing this link will cover that. I do not bathe mine (3 of them) more than once or twice a year and you cannot tell I have ferrets at all they have no smell. I do not give them that horrible bi- odor stuff either. Do not use that dry bath stuff on your ferret it isn't good for its respitory system. you keep using it and shampoo your ferret will continue to smell worse. http://exoticpets.about.com/od/ferretcar鈥?/a>

So for your schdual you need to put all hammocks in the wash on warm setting. If you cannot get all natural landry detergent (what i use and reccomend) Then just do not use fabric softner it irritates their skin and makes them itchy.

You need to stop using the bedding and make sure you use paper litter. Scoop the litter box whenever it uses the bathroom just make sure to replace the oldest poop with the new poop to remind your ferret it is a bathroom. I have 3 like I said they do not stink at all I change their litter box and clean it out with hot soapy water. rinse well. Wash everything the ferret has. Do this and I promise you won't have a smelly ferret. Now here are pictures of my ferret cage. What a ferret cage with a loving owner like I should look like. There are before and after pix of what it looked like when I used sheets and blankets I have since ordered a custom bedding set and my ferrets are all 100% litter box trained in the cage. http://holisticferret.proboards80.com/in鈥?/a>

This is where you can buy this cage other than ebay which is cheaper. It is also the easiest cage to clean. And the best in the world.

    http://www.ferret.com/item/ferret-nation鈥?/a>

Edit: Good thing she has a ferret nation. what you want to do is wash everything like I said once a week. Take the pans out and spray natures miracle or clean cage on there and whipe it off. Get rid of the litterbox with petfresh bedding in it. Mine have one large square ferret litter box in there cage and use it every time.
I am owned by five ferrets and I do ferret rescue. It sounds like you are doing mostly every thing right. I am kinda going through the same thing with my newest rescue who i maybe keeping.

First of all i know it seems like frequent baths seems like a good idea. However as you said it strips them of oil and they will produce more oil to replace what is stripped, this will make them smell more not less. the dry shampoo will have the same effect, as will wiped and deoderant or perfume sprays.

Next you did not mention cleaning your ferrets ears or teeth. Your ferret may need it's ears and teeth cleaned, as well as nails clipped. If cleaning them dose not help your ferret may have ear mites or even and ear infection or gengervitis. Please get your ferret to a vet to have it's ears and teeth checked.

The last thing is, it is possible the scent glad was not completly removed. If and when you take your fuzzvutt to the vet have them ceck that too if they can and ask about descenting it again.

    Hope this helps
I have had ferrets for years and never had that problem. I do have a question was she descented when you got her. You may need to make sure that the glands were removed if she smells that bad. At one point we had 5 Ferrets and the smell was never Horrid. We would also give ours a good bath about once a week. A good shampoo and rinse once a week was fine for them. The build of the dry shampoo could do some damage to her skin and if she is to itchy she could scratch her self to the point she has sores and they could become infected.

Here is my suggestion. Give her a good soap and water bath once a week and use the dry shampoo in between once a day. See if that helps. If it doesn't take her to the vet and see if her glands were properly and fully removed. If they were not that could be part of the problem. Ferrets do have a bit of a smell to them but it should be as you described as horrid.
Try something other than dry shampoo. Bathing once or twice a day isn't necessary, because sometimes stripping the oils from their skin can do more bad than good. Try bathing her once a week with a different shampoo, and give her an actual bath. As for the shampoo, try one with no scent and one with a very heavy scent. Sometimes heavily scented ones do no good, and the unscented shampoos are actually the miracle-workers. If you keep everything clean, then all that's left to do is experiment. It takes a while to get it right - in the meantime, talk to your mom and let her know what's going on so she doesn't jump right in and make you get rid of your pet before you can figure out what to do.
use it as often as you need to.

I hope you get a wide variety of responses, especially since with Black people, washing the hair on a regular basis can stip the hair of its natural oils and in Whites, I know it's usually a daily basis because of the amount of oil. I am excited to answer this question. For the most part, I wash my hair twice a week. I usually keep it cut short and use a texturizer on it to help curl the natural hair and keep it shiny and moist. The longer my hair grows, I have to take another approach. The texturizer won't continue to work because it will make my hair 'straight' when I want it to 'curl'. I use shampoo (Motions products) and conditioner. Sometimes for my hair to have the curl pattern that I like, I will keep the conditioner on my hair and let the air 'dry' it. It will wave and curl just right. Thanks again for asking. I think this question was good because it helps us to know about each other a little more 'intimate'. You know, 'questions that we were hesitant about asking'. One loveOK people, when it comes to your hair: Do you shampoo daily or in daily intervals???
i shampoo 2 times a week wed and sun if i wash it too much i lose hair
I aim for once a week, washing daily dries it out. Sometimes more often if I have used a lot of styling products or if I have really overdone it outside.
I definately shampoo my hair everyday. If I sweat from the gym, I wash it again....

Ok to use Neutrogena T/Sal shampoo on a daily basis?

I plan on using this for my itchy scalp. Is it okay to use everyday (even after my problem hopefully goes away)? The active ingredient is 3% salicylic acid.

Thanks.Ok to use Neutrogena T/Sal shampoo on a daily basis?
i would say no. salicylic acid is VERY drying. use Neutrogena T/Gel for itchiness and dandruff and use as directed.

Believe or not, Mayonnaise is a great natural conditioner and moisturizer.

';Hold the mayo';....ha ha, and massage it into your hair and scalp just as you would do for a conditioner.

Either cover your head with a shower cap or let set for several minutes and then shampoo and condition as usual.
Also, try massaging your scalp vigourously before shampooing. Do this three or four times. After each massage, brush-comb-then brush your hair again. This will help loosen some of it up and get it out of your hair so that the rinse will be more effective. It also helps to increase circulation.
    Nioxin-Scalp Therapy
A little peanut oil mixed with lemon juice.

Forget the over the counter products, there's too many harsh chemicals in them! Get plenty of Vitamin A and E

Good luck itch one! SmileyCat : )
there is a medicated scalp treatment (a cream) it's called ';Stop It'; works instantly.

    Good Luck
you know i have the same problem and i thought it was becuase of the cold weather, but now i live on a tropical island and i still have really dry skin in general. Couple things i would suggest

Don't take showers/or wash hair in the morning....take them before you go to sleep.

After you shower make sure you dry your hair well, don't be too abrasive just make sure it's dry. Eat lots of fruits and make sure you're drinking alot of water.
hiya, i often used to get an itchy scalp, i went to the doctors and he suggested polytar, it works a treat and you can buy it at your local chemist. hope this works for you
try betnovate scalp lotion.and nizoral shampoo.
for the dry hair i would get cholesterol you can get it in a beauty shop also i like v09 hot oil treatment for my hair. on the itchy scalp i would suggest nizoral shampoo. Also to help the sweating you may think about getting your hair cut as short as possible or thinned out if you have thick hair it will help more air to get to your scalp and also keep you cooler.
